We would like to announce the appointment of Mr. Jerzy Krotoski as Honorary Consul of Portugal. On 12 September 2019, an inauguration meeting of the consulate was held with the participation of the Ambassador of Portugal, Mr. Luís Cabaço, representatives of the government and local administration and representatives of science, culture and business.
Portuguese authorities planned to open such an institution in Wielkopolska, mainly due to economic and business relations, as many companies with Portuguese capital operate in the province. Poznan is also a place that is very often visited by Portuguese tourists, and local universities are often chosen by students on international student exchange programs. However, this only became possible after Luís Cabaço became Ambassador, at whose initiative the matter was finalized: "I thank Consul Krotoski for taking on the task of promoting economic and cultural development between the two countries. This task should not be difficult, I predict, because of the great mutual sympathy between the Portuguese and the Poles”.
The Consulate will enable the protection of the interests of Portuguese citizens staying in Poland. The activity of the consulate will also influence the establishment of new relations between Poland and Portugal in the field of trade and technological exchange, tourism and promotion of the region. The Consulate is based in Poznan at Nowowiejskiego Street 8/4.
